Mr. Smith has actively demonstrated not only a corporate but also personal commitment to the housing industry on both a national and international level holding such prominent positions as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CMHC, President of the Canadian Housing & Renewal Association, member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors for the Ontario Homebuilders Association, member of the Board of Governors of the Credit Valley Hospital, member of the Board of Directors of TARION Warranty Corporation and a member of the Board of the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization Corporation, to name a few. In 2000, Mr. Smith was awarded the Order of Canada. Currently Mr. Smith is Vice Chair of the Board of Metrolinx and serves as a Director of Brampton Brick Limited and First Canadian Title Insurance Company.

Andrin’s partner, the Kerbel Group, has been active in every aspect of the real estate market and has been a major developer in the Metropolitan Toronto area since the early 1950’s. The company is well respected for its outstanding designs and high quality workmanship and has an impressive portfolio of prestigious condominium projects and exceptional commercial properties. The Kerbel Group also enjoys a successful reputation as an international marketer of real estate projects and is also the principal shareholder of Brampton Brick.

Today, Andrin has built well over 3,500 homes in communities across southern Ontario including Markham, Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Guelph, Kitchener and Bradford. On the investment side of its portfolio, Andrin’s financial strength extends south of the border into Dallas Texas with the high profile conversion of the former Sears Warehouse Building into the hugely successful Southside on Lamar – a mixed-use conversion project containing 456 loft condominiums and more than 120,000 sq.ft. of retail and office space.
